Fireplaces. Always wanted one.  Unlike most people who want them in the living area I always wanted one in the bedroom-- my nest, my sanctuary, my haven.   

They add that unmistakable glow...

That extra detail...

That texture that comes with the surround whether it's wood, brick, stone, metal...

I leave mine on all day sometimes.  Write, eat, hangout in the bedroom-- why not? It's the ultimate cure for the end of winter blues...

...and, my dog enjoys it too!

I'm all about sleep-- getting enough of it, getting to bed at a decent hour (before 1am lately) and getting the best linens to make it possible to catch my Zzzz's! Check out some beautiful spaces and luxurious bedding!

Every once in a while I meet a really creative, talented person that I like to acknowledge in the blog! Alexandra Mauri is a fashion student at my Alma mata, The Fashion Institute of Technology here in NYC.  She's also a talented decor enthusiast and when I was visiting her and her mom recently, I took this photo of her latest project. Love the soothing colors and the green POP!

C'mon beds...get sexy (part one)

Hey there my friends. I've been helping a friend with her bedroom and looking at beautiful bedding has inspired me to do this post--in fact, I loved so many linens that I have to do this in 3 parts! Are you a fluffy duvet cover over a down-filled-comforter-type? Or, are you a stream-line minimalist? Are you the type that loves a flat, non puffy coverlet? Or do you crave a bed full of pillows? Whatever you're groovin' on it's all good--really, it is. It's what makes you feel comfortable in bed and what makes you feel sexy.

Recently I had to select some incredible cashmere throws for a small accessorizing job and while I was there I was able to preview some  lovely bedding. I'm still partial to the neutrals. Here are a few that are perfect for this time of year.

Cozy Bedrooms

Brrrr.  It's freezing here in New York!   If I wasn't so excited about my semi-annual trip across town to the International gift show at the Javits Center I'd probably be staying under the covers this weekend! These cozy rooms would be just perfect for that. Enjoy your weekend!
