Flower arrangments

While staying at a friend's place in LA, she bought cut flowers and I got the task of arranging them.  After my (successful!) meetings, it was a great way to change things up and relax...Yep, that's how I relax my friends. Some people like a glass of wine while I chill by arranging flowers. OK, wine was involved in dinner that night too, but I swear arranging flowers does the trick too, in case you're out of vino!  Here's the final product along with some other pretty arrangements I found on pinterest.

I always love when fruit is involved in an arrangement. So fresh...
Elegant
 Clever twig vase
Doily wrap, love it!
 Simple is always a fav
That box is a keeper after the flowers are long gone!

Floral fantasy

Photo: Vogue
Flowers are in full bloom this year-- in fashion, interiors and even on Park Avenue in NYC. It's a bubbly kind of pick me up any time of year. I've been seeing florals on fabric and wall coverings more and more these days and if feels really fresh.

May flowers...finally!

Georgia O'Keefe's  "Red Poppy"

Here they come, folks. May flowers.  Sigh. And not a moment too soon. Double sigh.  I can't take it anymore!! The clouds, the gray, the rain, (still drizzling in NYC, btw.) I'm not saying I don't love the rain. It's a great excuse to curl up and read a book or watch a movie or pig out on snacks while reading that book or watching that movie.  Or, watching John Cusak in a movie in the rain. (He does shoot a lot of  scenes in the rain, doesn't he? Not that I'm complaining...he looks good wet) Ahem. So, I'm not saying I don't like the winter or rainy days... But enough already-- Right? (I hear a collective yes.) I was at the shore house a few days ago and I saw hanging flower baskets and flower boxes on some houses and buds poking through the lawns.  Don't ya just love spring's flowers? Here they come. Sigh. Double sigh. Smile.
