Mod dining!

VIa: Pinterest

I'm drawn to clean, modern dining areas. It seems so fresh, not to mention the fact that the food really becomes part of the decor... and why shouldn't it in a dining room?

The color of the food on the plate adds to the drama instead of competing with it. They aren't antiseptic in their approach, they're warm and inviting, yet still contemporary.

Makes me want to display a pretty table setting, cook up some fabulously delicious, colorful meal and dig in! ...you're all invited.

The Dining Room

I've been looking at dining rooms lately and fell hard for these photos.

Take a look at some of these beautiful rooms and you'll see why I've been drooling and dreaming of how I would decorate my dining room... if I had one.

At first glance you might label them as traditional, but there's an element in each room that makes them a bit eclectic, and they just scream personality.

They each have something whether it's the wall color, or a chair, a sconce, a rug that makes the room stand apart from the norm.

They visually say something that speaks to many different personalities and styles.

What do you think? Do these rooms speak to you?

DeLiCiOuS Dining Rooms

Love the drama!

The chairs don't match, which is perfectly perfect.

Cool modern.

Such a soft, soothing palette. Of course I'm imagining some decadent, loud rock music playing in the background.  Talk about juxtaposition!

Soft music seems too obvious.  Sometimes it's good to shake things up a bit.

So many great details in this room.  Nailhead-trimmed chairs. Heavy, turned legs on the table. Beamed ceilings. Plastered walls. And, how about that red piece of art?

Lovin' it.

I've already worked up an appetite.

An aubergine wall with the light pine farm table-- works for me. What a striking contrast.

I really appreciate when a host decorates with a low-rise floral arrangement at a dinner party, don't you? Unless of course you're want to avoid talking to the person across from you!

Here's a table from Grange and it's called the Provencal. It's a painted piece that comes in just about any juicy color you can think of.

I think it'd be really cool to pair this with some modern, clear Louis ghost chairs below.
