When it comes to the holidays and Christmas decorating, I really do implement the less is more rule. I guess I do that for most of my decorating, not just at the holidays. Throw a strand of lights here, a layer of garland there, add a row of stockings on the mantel and for me, that's a party. I prefer the alternative, minimalist approach as you can see in these shots...But that doesn't mean my guilty pleasure isn't driving around the tri-state area looking at houses with the over-the-top lights and decorations! It started when I was a kid and my mother would pile all the kids in the car and we'd drive through towns in New Jersey just ooohing and ahhhing at all the pretty lights. Then we'd get home and be glad that all we had to do was take a wreath off our door. Most of the time, the way people decorate the outside is typically how they decorate on the inside and either way is a treat. So, how about you guys? Which way do you decorate for the holidays?? |

A peppermint wreath! How fantastic--you don't have to store it, you just eat it away.
This happens to be one of my favorite Christmas trees! I saw this on a post over at
The Buzz Blog and it wowed me!

You are the sweetest! Thanks for the shout-out and I fear that ingenious tree probably took more time to create than all of my holiday touches! I agree - less is more and if I can't get all of it done in a day, then it doesn't happen.
