And this one is also a fav of mine. I love the smaller print on the wall paper with the larger chair and bedding print. Pretty darn cozy, huh?
Wow-factor.
The window treatment, pillows, rug and art work don't compete.
Even the different pattern on the hanging towel looks great. Notice how just two colors were used, that's a great way to get started if you're feelin' it and want to give it a go for the first time.
The chair, ottoman, rug and even the art combine to make this vignette really interesting.
A softer approach: A couple of different stripes with floral bedding at the shore house.
Above and below photos: A couple of schemes I put together for two separate rooms for a project I'm working on. The easiest way to get this look is to mix pillows. Throw them on a sofa or bed with a solid fabric and voila! Here are some favorites from Cisco.Ralph Lauren mixes stripes with florals.

I love mixing things up in decor and on my table - antiques with modern, stripes and florals, godd china with melamine! Love that your featured some interiors by two of my favorites designers - Michael Smith and Kathryn Ireland!
